Mónia Nakamura


Mónia has been working in wolf monitoring, research and conservation projects since 2007 in NW Portugal. Field work concerning ecology, distribution and behaviour of this large carnivore is her primary knowledge and interest. This species’ conservation largely depends on people's perceptions and on breaking myths that have long been after the wolf. Therefore, Mónia believes that obtaining scientific-based information and contacting with local people are priorities. She is mainly interested in the areas of ecology, conservation and behaviour of mammals, and carnivores in particular.
